A Costume-exchange Event
September. 10. 2011

Today we had a costume-exchange event at the regular dance meeting.
This event started because we wanted to reuse costumes
which are in the closet and not used any more.
With the memberf cooperation we had more than 120 items.
When you supply the costumes, please make sure that they are washed.
They are sold at a price of 1,000 yen for menfs clothing and 2,000yen for ladies.
As there are so many costumes this time, it will be held next week, too.
Thank you, all the members of Tokyo Square Dance Club, for your cooperation.

An Ooi Twinkle Horse Race tour
July. 15. 2011

For the Planning Committee's second event,
they organized an Ooi Twinkle Horse Race tour on Friday July 3rd.
36 people participated in the all-you-can-eat/drink and all-you-can-bet horse race
at a buffet-style restaurant.
Whether experienced or inexperienced in horse racing, everyone uttered either "I won" or "I lost".
Everyone was full of joy or sorrow. Also at night, there was beautiful illumination everywhere.
Since everybody became so preoccupied by the horse racing,
we couldn't talk too much to each other,
but it was great that we experienced something out of the ordinary
and enjoyed this activity together.
Our stomachs were satisfied, but I wonder about the profits...?

A mini-fashion show was organized to present

The gentlemen's costumes will all have the same design.
The design for the ladies' costumes can be created by the Ladies as they like
using the same materials as the gentlemen's.
Why don't you make one? The more the merrier!

to Support the Tohoku area
- 2011.5.4 -

We have received many emails and letters of encouragement and support
from overseas and we really appreciate these concerns.
There are still people who are suffering from the damage in the Tohoku area,
but Tokyo is getting back to normal now.
We wanted to also encourage the Tohoku region and we have decided to hold a barbeque party
on 4th of May at Showa Kinen Park.
Under great sunshine, 28 members got together and had a lot of fun drinking beer
and eating delicious meat, Yakisoba and rice balls.
The park itself was full of people even before the opening of the park
because it was the Golden Week holiday season.
The participants had a great time talking about various topics.
We hope for the fast recovery of Tohoku.
We are planning lots of fun events, so please participate in the future.

Costume class was held.
January.29.2011

A costume committee : Michiko Okiyoshi
On January 29, we held a class of how to make a costume.
The participants including costume committee members were 18 people.
With the guidance of Shimizu, Yanase, guidance of Kageyama,
we made the models (a paper pattern) such as a shirt, costume (a dress),
the long dress and demonstrated to cut the piece of cloth.
These are the voices from the participants; I understood how to handle length
and breadth of the piece of cloth well!
The effective placement of the border handle came to be possible!
I challenge the design of the escargot, and they are looking forward to the outcome.
After the class, we had a reflection meeting and they hope to do not only the costume
but also a bodice or the class of the accessory.
It was splendid that we were able to talk willingly through such an opportunity.
Those who are interested in dressmaking, letfs get together! !
I hope therefll be more participates on the next time
and hope that we can spread our communication.
